Kunstmeile Mainburg / 2010

Audio and video recordings of an 88 year old woman, who was born and lived all her live in the town of Mainburg in Bavaria.
Her stories were collected by me in personal interviews and then placed as an installation in text form in specific locations in the town. There were very long texts that I attached to a bridge railing, but also short concise proverbs and wisdoms, typical of the Bavarian dialect and the region of the Holledau. For me, the lady functions as a time witness or time capsule of the place. By recycling her story, and thus the history of the town into the physical city center, a circle closes.

Ihre Erzählungen wurden von mir in persönlichen Interviews gesammelt und dann als Installation in Textform im Ort platziert. Dabei gab es sehr lange Texte, die ich z.B auf ein Brückengeländer angebracht habe. Aber auch kurze prägnante Sprüche und Weisheiten, die typisch sind für die bayrische Sprache und den Dialekt der Holledau. Für mich fungiert die Dame als  Zeitzeugin oder Zeitkapsel des Ortes. Durch die Rückführung ihrer Geschichte und somit auch der Geschichte der Stadt in den Ortskern schliesst sich der Kreis.
